Why this one is worth clearing your evening for
On Thursday 13th August we are back at Venture Café London, teaming up with Tech Nation with Irwin Mitchell's immigration team joining the lineup too. It is shaping up to be one of the fullest, most useful evenings we have put on yet, and given how quickly our in person events tend to fill up, we would genuinely hate for you to miss it because you left it too late.
This event has been designed as a get-together for people on (or interested in) the Innovator Founder Visa or Global Talent Visa. Richard, Karen and James will be joined by key members of the Global Talent Visa team from Tech Nation, facilitated by Liam from Venture Café once again.
We know from every event we have run this year that the room is where the magic happens. The conversations you cannot plan for, the person standing next to you at the pizza table who turns out to be working through exactly the same visa question, the advice that sticks because it came from someone who has actually lived it. This is what our events are for.
This time we have packed even more into the evening. Alongside the founder panel and the usual networking, Irwin Mitchell's immigration team will be running a dedicated workshop, breaking down the practical realities of the Innovator Founder and Global Talent routes. Whether you are still deciding which route is right for you, partway through your application, or already through it and figuring out what comes next, this is the kind of straight talking, practical guidance that is hard to find anywhere else.
What is actually happening on the night
Doors open at 6pm with pizza and networking, so come hungry and ready to talk to people. From 6.15pm, Irwin Mitchell take the floor, covering the common issues that come up during the immigration process, what students and graduates need to know, and what to think about once your visa has actually been granted.
From 7pm, Liam will welcome everyone properly before we hear from the Innovator International and Tech Nation teams about the work we do supporting international talent. Then we move into the main event, our panel, Beyond the Visa. Founders who have built real businesses and careers here on the Innovator Founder and Global Talent routes will share what actually happened after the visa was granted, the decisions that mattered, the mistakes they would flag to anyone starting out, and the moments that made it worth it.
