In our last event in 2025, we spoke about the year that was coming to an end and what 2026 has in store. If you didn't watch that event, you can view it using the link at the bottom of this page, but why would you want to do that if you can attend our first event in 2026 and ask your own questions?
You can book in for our first event in 2026 using the link below – but you might also enjoy reading what we covered in our final event of 2025.

2025 Recap:
Founder Visa Success Rate Insights
The success rate for endorsing Founder Visa applications surprisingly remained around 30% despite expectations of a decrease to 20-25%. We note that while some business plans are strong, others fall short of requirements, but overall, the rate demonstrates that the route is not becoming more difficult to access.
Innovator Visa Program Success Rates
The success rate for endorsed applicants receiving visas remains around 95%, and therefore, the overall success rate for obtaining a visa after applying for endorsement is around 29%. We emphasise the importance of meeting the visa criteria before applying and suggest that suitable applicants generally receive visas, while unsuitable ones are typically rejected.
Innovation is key, and while patents are not always necessary, applicants can demonstrate innovation through R&D and unique products. Geographical and sectoral trends are mapped, with a notable increase in applications from the USA and the majority of applicants (c. 67%) relocating to Greater London, with the other 33% spread across sectors and regions in the UK.
Settlement Progress and Checkpoints
Achieving significant progress for settlement applications involves meeting criteria against your last endorsed plan - it's not as straightforward as investing a certain amount or filing a patent. We highlight the importance of making sustainable progress and note that many businesses face challenges, which is why the route allows for extensions. The role of 12 and 24-month checkpoints are key, where a two-way conversation can occur to address any financial difficulties. Evidence of a realistic business picture is crucial.
Innovator Visa Application Process Updates
While the Home Office sets strict settlement criteria, there is flexibility in understanding business challenges. Honesty is paramount, as is supporting documentation. There have been no key changes to the route, with no fast-track for students, though conditions for student workers have been updated. We stress the need for applicants to demonstrate innovation and the benefits of their projects, particularly in AI, and highlight that the endorsement process is based on the quality of applications, with a consistent monthly endorsement rate.
Innovator Pulse Business Support Initiatives
We offer various business support initiatives, including the launch of InnovatorPulse.com and our supplier network featuring partners for tech, sales, and IP services. We also announced a new partnership with HSBC for personal banking and a collaboration with SalesGeek for international sales coaching.
Innovator International 2026 Growth Plans
The meeting concludes with our plans for 2026, including the launch of the Pulse Accelerate program, which will offer enhanced support to entrepreneurs, such as access to more suppliers, executive guides, and specific growth courses. We aim to build a strong ecosystem for migrant founders in the UK, addressing their needs for networking, trusted suppliers, and access to finance.
We encourage applicants to stay in touch with James regarding endorsing body transitions and request members to share their success stories with Harriet for future newsletters.
