Our latest online founder session explored one of the most important stages of the Innovator Founder Visa journey: turning endorsement into a thriving UK business. Led by Richard and Karen, the webinar emphasised that receiving an endorsement is not the finish line but the beginning of a much longer journey. Founders were encouraged to adopt a long-term mindset, prepare thoroughly before arriving in the UK, and focus on building sustainable businesses that meet both their commercial ambitions and visa commitments.
The session introduced a practical roadmap covering the 50 days before arrival, the first 100 days in the UK, and the transition into long-term growth. Attendees were encouraged to use the time before relocation to research customers, validate their products, prepare marketing assets, organise banking and tax arrangements, and begin building valuable business relationships. Alongside business preparation, the discussion also highlighted the importance of planning personal arrangements such as accommodation, healthcare and family logistics to ensure founders can focus on growing their businesses from day one.
A major theme throughout the webinar was execution over perfection. The speakers encouraged founders to launch a minimum viable product, seek customer feedback early, and continually adapt their business rather than waiting for every detail to be perfect. They also discussed the importance of choosing the right marketing channels, building meaningful professional networks, understanding UK business culture, and measuring progress through clear business milestones rather than vanity metrics such as social media followers.
The session concluded with an interactive Q&A covering topics including banking, healthcare, renting property, investment readiness and business planning. Throughout the discussion, we reinforce the value of ongoing coaching, accountability and local expertise to help founders navigate both the commercial and personal challenges of relocating to the UK.
