It's been a busy week here, in the best possible way. Our live Q&A yesterday morning was packed with brilliant questions, we've published a new guide for anyone who has just landed in the UK, and behind the scenes there is a lot going on that we can't wait to tell you about.

Our Q&A was a busy one

Thank you to everyone who joined us live yesterday. The questions were thoughtful, practical and, as always, a good mix of the very specific and the very relatable. We heard from founders thinking about how plans change once real life gets involved, how to keep a proper evidence trail from day one, and what to do when you're pre-revenue and wondering what endorsers actually want to see.

If something you asked (or something you were too shy to ask) is still on your mind, you're in good company. We're turning the themes from today's chat into articles over the coming weeks, so keep an eye on Innovator Pulse. And a reminder that the Open Q&A sessions aren't recorded, so live really is the best way to catch them.

Just arrived? Registering your company without UK ID

Here's one that catches out a lot of new arrivals. You go to register your company, and the identity check assumes you already hold something British: a UK driving licence, a biometric residence permit, or a passport with a chip the app can read. If you don't, it can feel like a wall in your first few weeks.

The good news is that there are two clear routes through it. You can verify in person at a Post Office branch, or use an Authorised Corporate Service Provider to do the checks for you. Our latest article walks through both, plus a quick gut check to do before you start.

Registering your company without UK ID
If you’ve just arrived in the UK to build your business, there’s a good chance you’ve already hit this wall. You go to register your company, and the process asks you to prove who you are. Simple enough, except the easiest routes all assume you already have

We don't want to give too much away yet, but there are lots of exciting business changes taking shape behind the scenes, and the team has been working hard on them. We'll share more as soon as we can.

What we can say is that we've been busy planning more events, including in-person ones. Next year is going to be our busiest year yet for in-person events, thanks to our ongoing collaboration with Venture Cafe. We're so excited about what this means for the community, and we can't wait to meet more of you face to face!
